Dental Sealants
Protective coatings applied to children's back teeth to prevent decay.

What is Dental Sealants?
Dental sealants are thin, protective plastic coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars). They fill in the deep grooves and pits where food and bacteria easily get trapped, acting as a highly effective barrier against cavities.
Ideal Candidates
Sealants are primarily recommended for children and teenagers as soon as their permanent molars come in (usually around ages 6 and 12). However, adults without decay or fillings in their molars can also benefit from sealants to protect their teeth.
Key Benefits
- Can reduce the risk of decay in molars by nearly 80%
- Completely painless, quick, and easy application
- Cost-effective preventive measure compared to getting a filling
- Invisible protective barrier
- Lasts for several years under the force of normal chewing
How Does It Work?
Applying sealants is quick, completely painless, and requires no drilling or anesthesia. The teeth are thoroughly cleaned and dried. A mild acidic gel is applied briefly to slightly roughen the tooth surface, ensuring a strong bond. The gel is rinsed off, the tooth is dried again, and the liquid sealant is painted into the grooves. A special light is then used to harden the sealant instantly.
Recovery & Aftercare
There is zero recovery time. You or your child can eat and drink immediately after the appointment. The teeth will feel perfectly normal.
