What is Emergency Dental Care?

Dental emergencies are unexpected issues involving your teeth or gums that require immediate attention to relieve severe pain, stop bleeding, or save a tooth. We prioritize emergency cases and make every effort to see you as soon as possible, often on the same day.

Ideal Candidates

Anyone experiencing a knocked-out tooth, a severely cracked or broken tooth, unbearable tooth pain, an abscess (swelling in the gums or face), or a loose or missing dental restoration (like a crown or filling).

Key Benefits

  • Immediate relief from severe dental pain
  • Increases the chances of saving a knocked-out or damaged tooth
  • Prevents infections from spreading and becoming dangerous
  • Compassionate care when you are feeling anxious and vulnerable
  • Same-day appointments available for urgent needs

How Does It Work?

Call us immediately at (703) 671-0626. Our team will instruct you on how to handle the emergency until you arrive at the office. Once here, our first priority is to relieve your pain and stabilize the situation. We will then diagnose the root cause and discuss the necessary treatment to restore your oral health.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery depends entirely on the nature of the emergency and the treatment provided. Whether you need a simple prescription for antibiotics or an urgent root canal, our compassionate team will provide you with clear, detailed instructions for a comfortable recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Handle the tooth by the crown (the top part), not the root. Rinse it gently with water if it's dirty, but do not scrub it. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it moist in a glass of milk or saliva, and get to our office within 30-60 minutes.

If the chip is small and causes no pain, it can wait for a regular appointment. If the chip is large, painful, or exposing the inside of the tooth, it is an emergency.

Please call our main number. Our after-hours system will provide instructions on how to reach the on-call dentist or direct you to the nearest emergency room if you are experiencing severe swelling that affects breathing.

Most dental insurance plans cover emergency exams and X-rays. We will work quickly to verify your benefits and discuss any treatment costs before proceeding.
